OUR committee

Our active management committee is made up from volunteers, parents and life members who are all driven by the shared goal of improving the performance of our athletes in a safe and positive environment.

Elaine Mackie, President 

Elaine is the inaugural president of Livingston Swimming Club having previously served on the committee of Aquanauts of Livingston. Both of Elaine’s daughters progressed through Aquanauts Learn to Swim programme and now compete for Livingston Swimming Club in the performance squad. Elaine’s young son recently registered in the clubs Learn to Swim Programme and is hoping to follow in his sisters footsteps! Elaine is also part of our Masters squad having progressed through adult swim school. Out with swimming Elaine is a civil servant and plays rugby for Livingston ladies team. 

Helen Turner, Secretary

Helen has recently taken on the role of club secretary since the club merger. Her daughter Ellie has been a member of the club for a number of years progressing from LTS to club swimming. Helen works part time at the Bank of Scotland which gives a good work life balance.

Angela Herkes, Treasurer

As Treasurer of the club, Angela manages all aspects of the club’s finances, ensuring payments and fees are handled smoothly. Her connection to the club runs deep—both of her daughters swim with the Junior and Performance squads, having first learned to swim through the Aquanauts Learn to Swim programme. Angela herself is a dedicated member of the Masters squad, having rediscovered her passion for swimming a few years ago. Outside the pool, she works as a Data Analyst at Heriot-Watt University.
